East at Large in The Loire!

The author limbers up for another hard day at the office..

After three years of  living half-way up what passes as a mountain in the Finistere department of Brittany, the Easts  have de-camped and moseyed on down to the Loire Valley, the setting for the next French Impressions book.

Other people might have found a normal run-of-the-mill place to live; the Easts have once again found somewhere rather special. The nearest village to their hamlet of three dwellings is dominated by an enormous chateau which puts Disneyworld to shame for over-the-topness...and (believe it or not) is owned by an American as the ultimate in holiday homes.  For more details and regular blogs from George, visit George in the Valley of the Kings.

French Impressions making an Impression!

The latest book in the East stable has proved a big hit for faithful fans, and is already in second printing. Here's what some readers are saying:

'Brittany is a  wonderful mixture of peace and vigour, of beautiful landscapes and cultural liveliness. George writes about Brittany with his usual honesty and humour.'

'This is a lovely book. Easy and entertaining to read, it nevertheless gives lots of useful information and insight into what you will find if you visit Brittany.'

'The French Impressions title is very apt. The book is like coming across the brightness of an impressionist painting after a museum full of the sombre art which some travel books seem to be.'

Book Reviews - Your chance to be a critic and help the cause!

On the subject of critical acclaim, you can help publicise the new French Impressions book and/or  the  Mill of the Flea series and other books by George East by becoming a critic. Many book-selling sites on the web offer copies of the series, and some- like Waterstones, Amazon and Bol - offer readers the facility to record their thoughts in the form of a review. If you have a minute, please visit a suitable bookseller’s site and tell other readers what you think about a specific book and the Mill series as a whole. Reviews do help sales, and enable Donella to feed her wildlife flock and George to go on ‘research’ expeditions to local bars even more frequently! Thanks.
